Best iPhone and iPod touch Games – Part I

Okay, so you must be wondering why I have taken task to enlist best iPhone and iPod touch games. Well you see I am not any type of critic or reviewer who will tell pros and cons of a game or app. I am just trying to save your time and money because all those review sites directly state that “this is best game I ever played” or like this “..it is worth buying” and sometimes even this “..what would you get in this much dollars” etc etc and I am personally fed up with those. So I decided to share my personal collection and suggestions so that any usual user like me does not have to refer to those “paid” review sites. I will also post some screenshots that I took my self and I hope you too know how to take a screenshot of your iPhone and iPod touch and if you don’t then simply press the home button and sleep button simultaneously and you are done.

Some Games that I enjoyed playing :

1. Need For Speed Shift

This game is good and quite addicting. It has perfect blend of graphics, sound, music tracks, user interface and experience. You will enjoy it a lot when playing but thats not all what makes a game ‘perfect’. This game is though addicting but it surely needs some updates and re-modelling. You have almost no control over car when playing with rookie controls. The game itself controls speed and when to brake so thats a problem. When I was playing, I wished it had some storyline just like Need for Speed Undercover and more tracks, but its multiplayer mode is appreciably good. In the end, this game leaves you wanting for more. I can’t tell you whether you should buy it or not, its totally upto you.

2. Riddim Ribbon

Riddim Ribbon is the latest addition to music cum social based games collection of Tapulous. There is no doubt that games of Tapulous rule the hearts of all music lovers and this game also received positive response from all reviewers and players. The concept of this game is new and I think successful. In this game you have to guide a marble on ribbon to keep the song playing, just like DJ who has spin turntable right otherwise the song will lose its rhythm. There are some glitches in this game, like when playing it can crash or there is no sound etc. It has very limited number of songs which is very disappointing and also they are mainly of Black Eyed Peas and Tiesto which is again a big disappointment. The difficulty level is good, controlling is fine and graphics are fine too. Again, you have to decide if you have to buy it, I won’t say a word.

3. X2Football

If you love playing football then possibly this game is for you, and it will definitely entertain you for some time. This game has given a strong competition to rivals in its category like Fifa World Cup by EA sports and Real Football by Gameloft not only in terms of price but also in its quality. Good quality animations and sound, superb controls and competitive price is what makes this game better than others. But, as you know nothing is perfect, this game also has some obvious problems and limitations. First of all, this game has no official team, like it does not have Man U, Chelsea etc. and when playing in multi-player mode over wi-fi or bluetooth, the game slows a little bit which can be frustrating.

Coming Up in Part II:

  • Iron Man 2
  • Angry Birds
  • Fast & Furious Adrenaline
